Each battle you win at a gym gives you XP, which becomes increasingly scarce as you catch all of the most common Pokemon. Additionally, for each Pokemon you have stored in a gym, you will receive 500 Stardust and 10 PokeCoins once every 24 hours. Apart from using actual money, this seems to be the lone way in the game to earn PokeCoins.
Welcome! Since we have been playing the game since the beta and we're happy to share what we have learned thus far with those less fortunate. Check back, since we are updating this guide frequently.
In Pokemon Go, conflicts just occur at gyms. If you are training with your Pokemon at a friendly gym, you can choose one Pokemon to send out against your teammate. If you're challenging an enemy gym, you can select a squad of six Pokemon which is sent out in turn.
If you happen to be in the "what's a Pokemon" phase of your investigation, we have made an additional guide: Six Pokemon Go hints for the ultimate beginner. Read that, then come back here!
You certainly can! Nicknames must simply be spelled with letters and numbers, and if you have a common name, you may already be out of luck: There aren't any duplicates allowed. (To whoever already took the name "Allegra," we've got our eye on you.) Naming apart, there are several skin tones, hair colors, and outfits to choose from. The choice is slightly less varied than what is obtainable in Pokemon X and Y, for reference.
We're still in the early periods of Pokemon Go knowledge. There are many unanswered questions, such as, "Does tossing a spinning Pokball increase the chances of a successful capture?" But this guide will be enough to give you an edge over your friends and neighbors.
You can also help fortify gyms belonging to your team by training and testing your Pokemon there. A gym gets stature for each battle it wins, even when it is a player of its team. So you can battle against friendly Pokemon repeatedly until your gym gets another degree, that'll then open up another defensive area, and enable you to contribute one of your Pokemon to the gym's fortification. Bear in mind that whichever Pokemon you leave behind will not be available for anything else unless it gets kicked out of the gym by an enemy team.
Swap for types: Swapping out a Pokemon leaves it vulnerable to attack for a number of seconds, so you might be reluctant to do it. But if you can swap for a type mismatch, like bringing out a Water Pokemon against a Fire enemy, it'll be worth it so long as their CPs are close.
Don't let the Pokemon you desire to leave at the gym faint: If you successfully choose a gym, you will not be able to leave behind a fainted Pokemon to defend it. So make certain your favorite choice survives the battle.
Specific moves are not always great: It is tempting to use the special move when it is charged, but if it's a big one, it might be far better wait until it can be used as a finishing blow. Because the specific move will leave you static and unable to dodge, and may have a cool-down time, shooting it will open you up to a frenzy of assaults. Additionally, make sure you take advantage by relentlessly attacking your enemies when they can be charging up a particular.
Know your enemy: As we explained in the types section, an important concept in Pokemon is understanding the strengths and weaknesses of your opponent. Before going into battle, make sure you check your enemy's kind and use or train Pokemon that has type edges over the opposing team.
The gym system is somewhat complicated, and you might be wondering why you should be bothering with it whatsoever. There are two main benefits of socializing with gyms: encounter and bonus things.
There are two options for logging into Pokemon Go. The easier approach would be to use an existing Google account. Otherwise, players can either sign in with or sign up for a Pokemon Trainer Club account, which comes with additional privileges. These include a subscription to a monthly newsletter, which occasionally offers download codes for rare Pokemon.
Long answer: Once your trainer has a name, Professor Willow --- this game's leading Pokemon scholar --- will walk you through catching Pokemon. Trainers can choose which of the three they want to capture and, at the ending of the world's easiest battle, whoever they decided will now be theirs.
You don't have to go it alone: It's possible for you to join up with other members of your team when fighting to take over enemy gyms.
Practice dodging: In your first conflicts, you'll probably only pat furiously away at the attack buttons, and this is probably a decent strategy if your Pokemon has a considerably higher CP than its competition. But to win close conflicts or conflicts where you're the underdog, you will have to get great at dodging, especially at dodging enormous specific assaults.
There are some ways for your trainer to earn XP. Each level’s full XP demand corresponds to the amount number, so at 1000 XP, you finish level one and go onto level two, subsequently 2000 XP after, you move onto level three which needs 3000 XP before you can reach degree four and so on. There's no means to battle in fitness centers — the locations on your own map with the massive Pokémon GO PokéStop in Gilmandyke NSW 2795 hovering over them, that look like some futuristic cone — without getting to level five. How 's better to get there quickly? Tap on every PokéStop you can. When they are blue, they have items in them, and you get a little expertise, which helps a ton in the early goings out. You can return to Pokéstops over and over, and they flip over fairly fast (about five minutes as far as we can tell). You may feel your phone vibrate, as you walk around. That means a Pokémon is not far! Tap it, swipe to throw a Poké Ball at it, and it is yours. You will get a lot of encounter for doing this, so do it as often as possible.
