Don't get me wrong; I adore my carefully curated Pokemon collection to departure, but do I understand any of these critters that can only say their names? I know the entire backstory of my chief Yo-Kai, Jibanyan. Other Yo-Kai that I meet can ask me for things and clearly get their feelings across... and that is incredibly cool compared to Pokemon. Now, obviously, it is not possible at this point to make Pokemon unexpectedly able to speak to their trainers, but the Pokemon anime certainly spends time helping us get to understand particular Pokemon as creatures with specific personalities and issues. I'd love it if the games could do a bit more of that instead of simply treating them as a means to an end.
In the immediate future, those upgrades will include Niantic focusing on stabilizing the servers and found the game in other regions, having just formally released in the USA, New Zealand, and Australia.
Yo-Kai Watch is a bit like the new Pokemon for Japanese kids, complete with its extremely-popular anime show. Now that the first game is here, we can see what all the fuss is about, and I've quite enjoyed the name. Actually, in several ways, I think it is even cooler than Pokemon.
First, Yo-Kai Watch occurs in our world, and your character has regular child worries. You're not some pre-teen who's tossed out into the crazy world to face down dangerous creatures and train them to engage in outrageous gladiatorial fight rites. You're a regular kid who desires to fit in with her (or his) friends and stresses when her parents fight. Now, I'm not saying that all games should take place in the real world - I love fantasy and sci fi worlds! Nevertheless, I'm proposing that Pokemon games could spend a little more time coping with stories that we can relate to as people. The brief episodes that make up the story of Yo-Kai Watch remind me of miniature anime episodes, and that's precisely what I Have wanted to see the Pokemon games do a bit more of when it comes to storylines.
What one other component of the game Niantic means to address is the lack of explanation it gives for certain game mechanisms. Addressing specifically the rings that form around a Pokemon while catching them, Hanke declares the game isn't deliberately obtuse.
"We handle it as an ever-evolving game," Niantic CEO John Hanke said in an interview with Game Informer. "It is not something that only minted and then issued on launch day and not transformed."
"I can not say we were that clever, no" Hanke said of whether the game was meant to have players work together to learn the app's intricacies. "We got a lot of comments during the beta, we made lots of developments, we repaired a lot of bugs, but I'd put it into that category of something we had love to make that more so that it's more apparent."
Now that Pokemon Go has properly started --- in particular lands, at least ---Niantic Labs has no intention of leaving the game in its current state. Instead, the programmer plans to upgrade the game constantly.
In Yo-Kai Watch you play a child who obtains the power to see and speak to Yo-Kai, colorful spirits who embody human characteristics and emotions. It's possible for you to recruit a ton of them to your side by defeating them in battle, but that is pretty much where the direct likeness to a Pokemon game endings. The battle system is real time and completely different from Pokemon, and the flow of the story is totally different. Still, there are a couple of things about Yo-Kai Watch's setting and the story I believe The Pokemon Company could learn from.
The folks in the Yo-Kai Watch world also feel more actual than Pokemon game folks. Everybody, from little kids to old people, in the Pokemon world, is obsessed with talking about Pokemon. Practically everybody you talk to gives you meta-game advice about Pokemon or Pokemon-related services. They aren't folks; they're an lengthy tutorial delivery service. The people in Yo-Kai Watch, on the other hand, have distinct characters and problems that you could select to help them with. Often these difficulties can be solved by summoning or dispelling a Yokai, but they don't know that. They merely understand that their employee is inexplicably late for work, they lost an important toy, or they do not understand how to ask out the target of their affection. In other words, you can see them as real individuals with interests unrelated to you and your pursuit. I would love to see more of that from.
Hanke noted that this does not mean the game will automatically receive major attributes with each upgrade, but Niantic is devoted to consistently working on and enhancing the game. As Hanke has formerly said, he reiterates that features like trading and upgrades to PokeStops and gyms are among the plans the developer has in store.
Niantic is also looking into Pokemon Go's GPS and battery use dilemmas. It was also recently found that Pokemon Go grants Niantic full access to users' total Google accounts when they enroll with that advice.
There are some ways for your trainer to bring in XP.
