Additionally, you can dodge enemy assaults by swiping left and right. Battles continue until one of the pokemon has fainted. And of course, normal pokemon damage type rules are in effect: water pokemon are powerful against fire kinds, fire against grass, etc. Pokemon can be treated or revived using potions and revives that you can get from visiting pokstops.

So, upon loading up for the very first time, you'll be requested to sign-in using either Google or Pokemon club. You'll be guided through locating your first Pokemon by Professor Willow, a flitting, white haired guy. The thing is, he guides you through finding your first Pokemon, but the way in which you locate it's completely different from how you'd find them from that point forward.
This is fairly easy, and I'm hoping pretty much all of you figured this out yourself. You must use the map in your phone to navigate, by walking to wherever you need to be. There's more to it than that, though, and that's why there's a dedicated section.
Occasionally, you'll appear as being someplace you aren't. The best method to repair this is to switch place services fast off and on, and your location should update to represent where you are. The little compass in the top right is used for centering your view in the direction you're facing, so if for any reason you might have to do just that, then exploit it. You can rotate around using your fingers/thumb, or use two at a time, you can go nearer and further from your character as you want.
So, once you have got the hand of actually moving around, you'll probably be heading to the closest Pokestop, as instructed by our dear friend Professor Willow.
These are important. When you are near one, make sure you visit it. Pokestops will give you precious things like potions, Poke Balls, which are used actually to catch Pokemon, and sometimes, eggs. Click on the blue square-like picture on your own map that signifies the Pokestop, and a circle should appear in your display showing you the place of the stop. It's typically a landmark of some sort, including a statue, church, or fountain. Whirl the circle to have it spit out a few goodies.
There are some means for your trainer to earn XP. Each amount’s total XP requirement corresponds to the amount amount, so at 1000 XP, you end degree one and move onto level two, subsequently 2000 XP afterwards, you move onto level three which needs 3000 XP before you can reach level four and so on.
