Each battle you win at a gym gives you XP, which becomes increasingly scarce as you catch all the most common Pokemon. Additionally, for each Pokemon you've kept in a gym, you'll receive 500 Stardust and 10 PokeCoins once every 24 hours. Besides using real money, this seems to be the lone way in the game to earn PokeCoins.
Welcome! Since we've been playing the game since the beta and we're happy to share what we have learned thus far with those less fortunate. Check back, since we are upgrading this guide consistently.
In Pokemon Go, battles only happen at gyms. If you're challenging an enemy gym, you can pick a squad of six Pokemon that will be sent out in turn.
If you happen to be in the "what is a Pokemon" stage of your investigation, we have made an additional guide: Six Pokemon Go tips for the ultimate beginner.
You certainly can! Nicknames must just be spelled with letters and numbers, and if you have a common name, you may already be out of luck: There are no duplicates allowed. (To whoever already chose the name "Allegra," we have got our eye on you.) Naming apart, there are several skin tones, hair colors, and outfits to choose from. The selection is somewhat less varied than what is obtainable in Pokemon X and Y, for reference.
We are still in the early phases of Pokemon Go knowledge. There are many unanswered questions, such as, "Does pitching a spinning Pokball increase the likelihood of a successful capture?" But this guide will be enough to give you an edge over your friends and neighbors.
You can also help fortify gyms belonging to your team by training and testing your Pokemon there. A gym gets stature for each battle it wins, even if it is a player of its team. So you can battle against friendly Pokemon repeatedly until your gym gets another degree, which will then open up another defensive spot, and enable you to contribute one of your Pokemon to the gym's fortification.
Swap for sorts: Swapping out a Pokemon leaves it vulnerable to attack for a number of seconds, so you might be hesitant to do it. But if you're able to swap for a type mismatch, like bringing out a Water Pokemon against a Fire enemy, it'll be worth it so long as their CPs are close.
Don't let the Pokemon you need to leave at the gym faint: If you successfully take a gym, you will not be able to leave behind a fainted Pokemon to defend it. So make certain your favored option survives the battle.
Special moves are not always great: It is tempting to use the specific move as soon as it is charged, but if it is a big one, it might be best to wait until it can be used as a finishing blow. Because the special move will leave you static and unable to dodge, and may have a cool-down time, shooting it will open you up to a frenzy of attacks. Also, be sure to take advantage by relentlessly attacking your enemies when they are charging up a special.
Know your enemy: As we clarified in the types section, an important concept in Pokemon is understanding the strengths and weaknesses of your adversary. Before going into battle, be sure to assess your enemy's type and use or train Pokemon that has type edges over the opposing team.
The gym system is a bit complicated, and you might be wondering why you should be bothering with it whatsoever. There are two main advantages of interacting with gyms: encounter and bonus items.
There are two alternatives for logging into Pokemon Go. The easier approach will be to use an existing Google account. Otherwise, players can either sign in with or sign up for a Pokemon Trainer Club account, which comes with additional privileges. These include a subscription to a monthly newsletter, which sometimes offers download codes for rare Pokemon.
Long reply: After your trainer has a name, Professor Willow --- this game's leading Pokemon scholar --- will walk you through catching Pokemon. Trainers can choose which of the three they want to capture and, at the ending of the world's easiest battle, whoever they decided will now be theirs.
You don't have to go it alone: You can join up with other members of your team when fighting to take over enemy gyms.
Practice dodging: In your first conflicts, you will probably just pat furiously away at the attack buttons, and this is most likely a decent strategy if your Pokemon has a much higher CP than its rival. But to win close conflicts or battles where you're the underdog, you'll need to get great at dodging, particularly at dodging large special assaults.
There are some methods for your trainer to bring in XP. Each degree’s full XP requirement corresponds to the amount amount, so at 1000 XP, you finish degree one and move onto level two, then 2000 XP after, you move onto level three which needs 3000 XP before you can reach level four and so on. There is no means to battle in health clubs — the spots on your map Pokémon GO PokéStop in Bockelberg SA 5655 hovering over them with the gigantic , that look like some futuristic cone — without getting to level five. How 's best to get there quickly? Tap on every PokéStop you can. They have things in them, when they are blue, and you get a little expertise, which helps a ton in the early goings out. You can return to Pokéstops over and over, and they flip over fairly fast (about five minutes as far as we can tell). You may believe your phone vibrate, as you walk around. That means a Pokémon is not far! Tap it, swipe to throw a Poké Ball at it, and it's yours. You'll get lots of encounter for doing this, so do it as often as possible.
