If you happen to be in the "what's a Pokemon" stage of your investigation, we have made an additional guide: Six Pokemon Go tricks for the ultimate beginner. Read that, then come back here!

We're still in the early periods of Pokemon Go knowledge. There are many unanswered questions, for example, "Does pitching a spinning Pokball increase the odds of a successful capture?" But this guide will be enough to give you an edge over your buddies and neighbors.
You can even help fortify gyms belonging to your team by training and testing your Pokemon there. A gym gains stature for each battle it wins, even when it is a player of its team. So you could battle against friendly Pokemon repeatedly until your gym gets another level, that will then open up another defensive spot, and allow you to give one of your Pokemon to the gym's fortification.
Swap for kinds: Swapping out a Pokemon leaves it vulnerable to attack for a few seconds, so you might be hesitant to do it.
Do not let the Pokemon you need to leave at the gym faint: If you successfully take a gym, you will not be able to leave behind a fainted Pokemon to defend it. So make certain your favorite alternative survives the battle.
Specific moves aren't consistently great: It's tempting to use the specific move when it's charged, but if it's a large one, it might be far better wait until it can be used as a finishing blow. Because the special move will leave you static and unable to dodge, and may have a cool down time, firing it will open you up to a frenzy of assaults. Additionally, make sure you take advantage by relentlessly attacking your enemies when they're charging up a special.
Understand your enemy: As we described in the types section, an important theory in Pokemon is understanding the strengths and weaknesses of your adversary. Before going into battle, be sure to check your enemy's type and use or train Pokemon that's kind advantages over the opposing team.
The gym system is somewhat complicated, and you might be wondering why you should be bothering with it whatsoever. There are two primary advantages of interacting with gyms: experience and bonus things.
There are two options for logging into Pokemon Go. The simpler approach is to use an existing Google account. Otherwise, players can either sign in with or sign up for a Pokemon Trainer Club account, which comes with extra privileges. Included in these are a subscription to a monthly newsletter, which sometimes offers download codes for rare Pokemon.
Long response: Trainers can select which of the three they want to catch and, at the ending of the world's easiest battle, whoever they picked will now be theirs.
You do not have to go it alone: You can join up with other members of your team when battling to take over enemy gyms. Your teammate can attack the exact same enemy Pokemon like you, and you can make your way through the enemy gym together.
Practice dodging: In your first conflicts, you will likely just pat furiously away at the attack buttons, and this is most likely a decent strategy if your Pokemon has a considerably higher CP than its competitor. But to win close conflicts or conflicts where you are the underdog, you will need to get great at dodging, particularly at dodging huge particular assaults.
There are some methods for your trainer to get XP. Each degree’s complete XP demand corresponds to the amount amount, so at 1000 XP, you end degree one and move onto degree two, subsequently 2000 XP afterwards, you move onto level three which needs 3000 XP before you can reach level four and so on. There is no way to battle in gymnasiums — the locations on your map with the huge Pokémon GO PokéStop in Caralulup VIC 3371 hovering over them, that look like some futuristic cone — without getting to level five. So, how 's better to get there quickly? Tap on every PokéStop you can. They have items in them when they're blue, and you get a bit of expertise, which helps out a ton in the early goings. You can return to Pokéstops over and over, and they flip over pretty fast (about five minutes as far as we can tell). You may feel your telephone vibrate, as you walk around. That means a Pokémon is close! Tap it, swipe to throw a Poké Ball at it, and it is yours. You'll get a lot of experience for doing this, so do it as often as possible.
