Pokemon face off one on one, and can use one of two assaults --- tapping on the enemy pokemon to make a low-damage light attack, and tap-and-holding to unleash a special attack once your meter has filled. Furthermore, you can dodge enemy assaults by swiping left and right. Struggles continue until one of the pokemon has passed out. And obviously, regular pokemon damage sort rules are in effect: water pokemon are successful against fire sorts, fire against grass, etc. Pokemon can be cured or came to using potions and revives that you could get from visiting pokstops.
